CBD Oil and my cat with FIV and Leukemia

Some of you may have read my post a while back about my indoor cat Penny (read it here). Short story is, Penny has FIV (Feline AIDS) and Leukemia and so, is a pretty sick cat most of the time. She has a great love of life though and fights every single day to get the most pets and cuddles as she can, to strut around like a bad-ass Princess whenever possible, and in general show us that she is living her best life whenever she has the energy to do so. Hunny and I decided a long time ago we wont give up on her, until she gives up on herself. Its what we would want our families to do for us if we were that sick.
So, because of her general illness, we have been to lots of Vets, and we spend a decent amount of time finding ways to make her feel better. Penny was diagnosed with FIV and Leukemia back in 2013, and we had her retested again in 2018 because her new vet couldn't believe she was still kickin (her wonderful and amazing previous vet retired). She was about 1 1/2 when she was diagnosed, so that makes her a pretty miraculous 6 or 7 years old now. Her symptoms of her disease present as sores in her mouth, that she has pretty much all the time, but fortunately it has only ever shown up in her mouth and not gone down her throat and she doesn't suffer from much else usually. She has low energy, is sensitive to the cold, and when she is really not feeling good, she wont eat and curls into 'sick loaf' position and doesn't move for many hours, as well as some other little things we notice as her mom and dad. Over the years we have gotten very good at seeing her start to decline in health and address the symptoms as quick as we can. Steroids a few times a year, and various oral medicines that prevent infections and numb her mouth so she isn't in pain. But 5 years of this and her little self doesn't respond to medicine any more and we feel pretty confident her body cant take another round of steroids without just shutting down her organs. She has good months, even had a good year at one point, and she has bad months. This last Christmas season was bad, she stopped responding to the oral medicine, we gave it to her, but it was only making her tummy hurt and not helping her mouth at all. We finally stopped all medicine and starting having 'the sad talk' and gave a time limit on how long before we made the final call. Then a friend of ours, had the extremely sad news that her dog had terminal cancer. In talking to her I found out she put her pup on CBD Oil. Well Hunny and I had honestly never thought of that for Penny! Now, I am a Stoner. I come from a family of hippie stoners, and my mom is a huge advocate of holistic medicines. But none of us had ever thought of using CBD oil on Penny! So we did our research, got advice from the friend who has her pup on it, and decided to purchase from . 0% THC and good reviews from others with sick cats.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!! We give it to Penny orally, she is used to the old medicine being given orally so we figured why not just continue that way. She gets 1/4 a dropper every morning and afternoon around mealtimes. At first we were like "is it just in our head or is this actually working?" The first day we noticed a significant difference in her attitude. She was happier not curling up in her 'sick loaf' position as much. Within a few days of that, we noticed she was eating almost all of her meals, not just eating a few bites and then walking way. She was laying around sprawled out, legs stretched and looking like a regular lazy cat. About a week later she started stealing food from our plates and then RIPPING AT IT AND CHOWING DOWN!!! People, let me tell you, I cannot remember the last time she did this. I know most people wouldn't be so excited their cat stole food off your plate, but this is a sign of health in Penny. She still isn't allowed to do it, but we have a very hard time being mad. Her first day on the CBD Oil was January 17th. The last few days we noticed Penny yawning mouth stretched wide open, and meowing again, and her gums are much less red, almost a normal pink color, and SHE HAD ZOOMIES YESTERDAY!!!!!!! She ate a whole plate of her favorite food in the world, rotisserie chicken, and she has a really great normal cat schedule of sleep, eat, play, cuddle. She still sleeps a bit more then most cats but its way less then before, her fur is much healthier looking, and she doesnt look or act as like she is on deaths door any more.
So if you are here reading this and wondering if you should try CBD Oil on you pet, my answer is YES!!! 100%, YES!!!! Is this going to cure Penny's terminal illness, no, but is this giving her more happy days, weeks, and however long, YES!!
